FAQ
I) What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions accentuate the beauty of your own eyes. The process is a semi-permanent one and involves the professional adhering of a synthetic lash to each individual lash of your own. This process results in a beautiful, lush and natural extension of your own lash line.
2) How will they feel and how will they look?
They will feel weightless and natural during the day and evening. Your lashes will look fuller, more defined, longer and thicker. You will no longer need to wear mascara.
3) How long will they last?
When properly applied, they will last the full cycle of your natural lash cycle. The life cycle of a natural lash is the amount of time it takes for a natural lash to grow in and fall out. A person's natural eyelash typically falls out every 60-70 days and is naturally replaced with a new eyelash. Due to this cycle, "eyelash fills" are recommended every 2-4 weeks, although can last up to 2 months, so as to fill in the areas where new lashes are growing in.
4) How is the procedure done?
You will lye in a relaxed position as each synthetic lash is adhered to your individual lashes. This process takes approximately 2 hours, depending upon the amount of synthetic lashes applied. Each treatment usually involves attaching approximately 25-30 lashes per eye.
5) Does it hurt?
No. You will rest comfortably with your eyes closed during the entire application. Most people even drift off to sleep...
6) What are the benefits of eyelash extensions?
Needless to say, your lash line will look natural and simply gorgeous. No more mascara or eye makeup remover will be necessary, and no major after-care is required. The lashes will shed naturally along with your natural lash shedding cycle.
7) How much does it cost?
The initial procedure will cost £75. The "touch-up" or "fills" which are scheduled approximately 2-4 weeks following the initial appointment, will cost £30 and will take approximately 45-60 minutes to complete.
8) Will an eyelash enhancement keep me from engaging in normal activities?
It is very important to closely follow the After-Care Instructions immediately following your eyelash extension procedure. After the first 48 hours, you will be able to enjoy showering, swimming, exercising and other daily activities worry-free with no lifestyle change.
9) Is this the same type of procedure that Hollywood is raving about?
Yes. According to the ABC News, Good Morning America, dated January 2 I, 2006, it reports that Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan have them, and J. Lo's eyelash extensions are made of mink. Even more extreme, Madonna's lashes are $10,000.00 and are studded with diamonds. Lindsay Lohan, along with other stars, report using eyelash extensions to make their eyes stand out.
Eyelash Extension After Care Instructions
It is very important to follow these instructions thoroughly...
THE FIRST 48 HOURS...
DO NOT get lashes wet in order to allow glue to dry thoroughly.
AVOID hot steam from the shower and sauna.
LEAVE THEM ALONE... be gentle with your new lashes.
Do not rub your eyes excessively.
Do not wear any mascara or use an eyelash curler.
Do not wash them.
AFTER 48 HOURS...
AVOID OIL-BASED CLEANSERS, LOTION OR EYE MAKEUP REMOVERS. These products will dissolve the eyelash bonding agent. Instead, use plain water or water-based gel cleansers. You may wish to use a Q-tip to gently remove eye makeup around the lash line.
DO NOT USE WATERPROOF MASCARA.
The ingredients in this type of mascara will dissolve the bonding agent and your lashes will fall off.
IF YOU FEEL YOU MUST WEAR MASCARA...
apply only a "water-based" mascara on your lash tips, not at the base of your lashes. Application at the lash base may break the lash and/or create a clump of mascara in your lash line.
Again, most women do not feel the need to apply any mascara at all. If you accidentally drop some powder on your lashes, simply remove with a Q-tip moistened in plain water in order for your dark lashes to reappear again.
AVOID USING A MECHANICAL EYELASH CURLER.
Instead, use a heated eyelash curler sparingly. Prolonged heat to the lashes may cause them to come loose.
SCHEDULE A "TOUCH-UP" PROCEDURE IN 2-4 WEEKS.
"Touch-ups" or "fills" are highly recommended in order to maintain a full, lush lash line. They take less time than an initial application and are at a reduced price.
